Had a good weekend. Went on on Friday night to Club Oceana in Leeds with Merike Daz and Louise. Its probably the most 'trendy' venue I have ever been to but there didnt seem to be loads of aggro chavs - thanks to their door policy. Normally at trendy places I get bored and get a pringle craving but not there. I was pretty drunk but not as bad as Louise who was outpacing me on the pints of stella which left her unable to talk properly heh.
Saturday I was left on my own so I visited my parents as my old house is an hour from Leeds. Wanted to go and have a drink with my sister in Leeds later on but couldnt because I couldnt find the wendy bus to sling my bag onto. Wasnt really planning on going to Wendy but decided it'd be less hassle so went and got brained as usual when I go there. I think maybe if im in Leeds in the next couple of months Ill see if the Cockpit is any good. Doing a double trip thing monthly might be what ill do since im not really enjoying WH anymore (well not as much as Jillys).
Stephen seems to be settling in fine at our place. I think he is relieved to be away from his last housemate who was making things difficult for him. He drinks as much wine as us so our supermarket visits usually end up with us being asked 'where the party is'.
My years pay review is due this August. If I dont get promoted or its not significant enough Ill be spreading my CV around. Ive done 2 years there which is enough time to start considering other options.
My car repair/service/mot bill was £418. The fucking thing was rusting underneath all year and failed its mot because of it. Luckily I have a car account that just about covered it. Id love to get an Audi one day so ill probably have a gander at the show room near stockton.
Life is good. The new Stone Sour is absolutely brilliant and now Im going to eat some chipsticks. |

Lost season 2 is mint. Halfway through and it gets better everytime.
24 is mint also. I avoided tv shows for so long after Buffy and now im reaping the rewards. |

Download.. what can I say? The absolute highlight of my year so far. Seeing most of my favorite bands that I grew up with, getting wasted with good mates and meeting random people.
I got very battered indeed every day, starting at 10:00am waiting for the bars to open till about 4am in the evening. £200 quid just vanished.
Metallica were just plain brilliant.
My definate highlight was listening to Disposable Heroes live and hearing the new song (which my friends said sounded crap but meh to them!).
The festival had a lot of emo bands. Hell I even saw Fightstar. I don't like emo and how its kinda shaped the metal scene these days but it was good to see loads of people together to rock out no matter what the style of metal they were into. I wouldve crapped myself on the Sunday night seeing riot police but Ive seen em before when I was whacked out at Leeds one year when I needed to go piss.
Ill miss seeing the guys again but they have their own lives to live now in their own place. Im just thankful we can just turn off for a few days and get together and have a great time every so often. I came back from Download feeling recharged and work didnt seem stressful anymore when I got back there. Its great to escape from the mundane everyday machine and see the artists that picked me up during the tough days.

I was fucking wasted last night at the Empire. I ended up speaking to a guy from work when it closed. I hope he didnt notice how blitzed I was. Ended up in some students house where someone had smashed up downstairs. Was quite strange really! |

haha best day at work ever. Get in have a brew talk about football. 11am meeting - where we decide to continue the meeting in 'meeting room 5' which translates to in the pub. Stayed drinking in the pub till half 2 and then back to work where we just chattered till home time.
Even though it was a one off its little things like that that makes the staff respect and want to work harder for their manager. Every boss I have had in the past has lacked a social connection with their staff so its about time I worked for someone who is more down to earth!
In other news I have fucked my calf on the rotary at the gym so thats why im walking with a limp. |
